What "Amazon revenue" actually means
Sellers use "revenue" two ways. Gross revenue is simply price × units sold. But the number that matters is net proceeds — what Amazon actually deposits after taking its referral fee and, for FBA sellers, the fulfillment fee. This calculator reports net proceeds per unit and per month, then subtracts your product and other costs to show real profit.
The formula
Net proceeds = Selling price − referral fee − fulfillment fee. Then profit = net proceeds − product cost − other costs, and margin = profit ÷ selling price. Switch the fulfillment method to FBM to model fulfilling orders yourself instead of paying Amazon's FBA fee.
Amazon fees that reduce your revenue (2026)
Referral fees were frozen for 2025 and 2026 — most categories 15%, consumer electronics and computers 8%, with a ~$0.30 per-item minimum. FBA fulfillment fees were revised on January 15, 2026 using a three-band pricing structure (under $10, $10–$50, over $50); standard items priced $10–$50 rose about $0.08/unit on average. Always confirm the exact fulfillment fee for your ASIN in Amazon's official calculator before sourcing.
FBA vs FBM revenue
With FBA, Amazon's fulfillment fee comes out of your net proceeds but you skip the work and gain Prime eligibility. With FBM, you keep that fee but pay your own pick/pack/ship cost — which can be cheaper for large, heavy or slow-moving items. Toggle the method above to compare net proceeds both ways for your product.
Frequently asked questions
Is net proceeds the same as profit?
No. Net proceeds is what Amazon pays you after its fees. Profit is what's left after you also subtract your product cost and other costs (inbound shipping, prep, advertising, returns).
Does this include monthly storage and PPC?
Add them as a per-unit figure in "other costs" so your margin reflects all-in profitability. Storage and ad spend vary by product and season.
How accurate is the FBA fee estimate?
It approximates Amazon's standard-size tiers from weight and is good for quick screening. For oversize items or exact figures, look up the fee in Amazon's official calculator and enter it manually.
